Old Meadonians

Seventy five years ago towards the end of November 1929 one of the Founding Fathers of Old Meadonians Football Club, Les Russell, altered his science exercise book to ‘Old Meadonians Football Club’.

Sadly Les was killed in the Second World War and so never lived to see the club become a power in the Old Boys’ League, now the Amateur Football Combination, the Amateur Football Alliance and the local community.

The club has therefore chosen to inaugurate ‘Les Russell Day’ to celebrate its seventy- fifth anniversary.

The occasion will be marked by a Special Club Match on Sunday 28th November, KO 11am. at Chiswick School, followed by a buffet and drinks in the Riverside Club.
