Thames Tradesmen’s Rowing Club (TTRC) were out in full force at Molesey Head Race on the River Thames last weekend (Saturday 12 February). The club says that the atmosphere in the camp was full of excitement and camaraderie in anticipation of the race.

TTRC entered five crews consisting of Fours (sweep rowing) and Quads (sculling) with competitors ranging from experienced former Oxbridge rowers to those who had learned the sport in the past 12 months.

All crews competed well in their categories and managed to steer the tricky narrow course very well.

Club Chairman, Nigel Brophy who competed in the race said ‘It’s fantastic to see so many members from our club participating in this famous Head Race. For some who recently completed our popular Learn to Row course, it was their first race and to see them in crews alongside experienced rowers was a wonderful sight.”

The next Learn to Row course starts in early spring 2022 and anyone interested in doing the course should email their details to info@ttrc.org.uk
