“Helping Marie Curie has always been a personal matter close to me and having been able to swim the 200 lengths at the 2013 Swimathon was a challenge to say the least – something I want to continue doing going forward.

" I am also particularly proud of the Orchards of London team who got together and swam with me on the day, all in aid of a fantastic cause.” Says Paul Connolly, Managing Director of Orchards of London.

“What an invigorating day, to see everyone coming together to raise money for a fabulous cause, knowing that every £20 raised will provide one hour of Marie Curie Nursing care. We have started the year with some fabulous charity events and look forward to a summer filled with events.” Says Rudolph Diesel, Marketing Director for Orchards of London.

The team at Orchards in Chiswick have been busy helping a number of charities including handing out parcels to the homeless and supporting the Organ Appeal at St. Michael and All Angels.

In May Orchards of London will be completing the Skydive which got cancelled due to bad weather in March but the teams will also be training for the Tough Mudder challenge in June. They will also be involved raising money for Help For Heroes Boris bike ride from Paris to London.

The team has put 12 team members forward to compete in the Tough Mudder obstacle course in South London in June. The event has been described as “probably the toughest event on the planet”, and all proceeds go to the Help the Heroes charity.

Paul Connolly Managing Director of Orchards said: “Tough Mudder is such a well orchestrated, world renowned event so I absolutely jumped at the chance to get the company involved.

“The teams are very active and like to keep fit and healthy, so I thought it would be a fantastic chance to get everyone working together outside of the office to work as a team while also challenging their physical abilities in a completely different environment.

The course is between 10-12 miles long, consisting of a variety of obstacles along the way; including jumping into lakes, running through mud, crawling through tunnels, climbing up 12ft walls, swinging across monkey bars and rings and crawling under nets.

The teams will be assisted in their preparation by personal trainer, George Majstorovic who has worked in the health and fitness industry for the last 6 years .
