Pankaj Patel supporting Alzheimer's Society in memory of his uncle
August 23, 2025 Pankaj Patel, Chairman and Treasurer of Age Concern Chiswick, is set to take part in the Big Half Marathon. He will be running in central London on Sunday 7 September to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Society. The 13.2-mile run marks his latest charitable initiative and is dedicated to the memory of his uncle, Rakeshbhai, who passed away earlier this year following a battle with dementia. His fundraising page highlights the work of Alzheimer’s Society in supporting individuals affected by dementia and advancing research into treatment and care. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the condition and generate financial support for ongoing efforts to improve the lives of those living with dementia in the UK. This event follows a series of community-focused fundraising efforts led by Mr Patel in recent years. In 2022, he completed a 10km run in Hyde Park to fund the purchase of a defibrillator for Age Concern Chiswick, recognising the need for emergency medical equipment at the charity’s Friendship Club on Oxford Road North. In 2024, he ran the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon to support both Age Concern Chiswick and Breast Cancer Now, raising money for the installation of an automatic entry door to improve wheelchair access to the charity’s hall. Age Concern Chiswick provides social, recreational, and wellbeing services for older residents in West London, including yoga classes, games sessions, and community outings. Donations to his current campaign can be made via his JustGiving page.
