The Avenue Blocked by Overturned Private Hire Car
Miraculously avoids serious damage to parked vehicles

A road in Bedford Park was blocked this Saturday afternoon (8 March) after a car overturned.
No other vehicle is believed to have been involved in the incident which occurred on The Avenue between the junctions with Blandford Road and Fielding Road at around 4:10pm.
A seven seat MG electric car which was being used as a private hire vehicle ended up on its right-hand side. Witnesses say that the driver was unhurt and managed to exit the car by the passenger side window. It is not clear if there were any passengers in the vehicle at the time.
Miraculously, there was no serious damage caused to any of the other vehicles parked along the Avenue.
One passerby said, “I was walking past just a few minutes after it happened. The vehicle’s tyres seem to have been intact and there was no evidence of it travelling very far after tumbling over so I don’t think it was going that fast. My guess would be that it made too tight an angle when turning out of Blandford Road.

Route E3 buses were diverted in both directions via Acton Lane and South Parade with bus stops between 'Wilkinson Way (A & H) and 'Bedford Road' (K & J) not being served.
