Pedal bike hit by electric bike on cycleway in King Street
July 7, 2025 A 39-year-old male cyclist is in hospital after being involved in a collision in Hammersmith on Friday evening (4 July). Shortly before 7pm, he was riding a pedal cycle when it was hit by an electric bike on the cycleway near the junction of King Street and Black Lion Lane. An eye-witness reports seeing the e-bike cross from the road onto the cycle lane just before the collision. We previously incorrectly reported this as a collision between an e-bike and a car. Police and paramedics attended the scene and a London’s Air Ambulance helicopter landed in Ravenscourt Park. Both riders were taken to hospital but the rider of the e-bike, aged 26, was discharged after his injuries were found not to be serious. The pedal cycle rider who was knocked unconscious by the collision, remains in hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. King Street was closed between Goldhawk Road and Ravenscourt Park for a few hours after the incident.
