Chiswick House to Host Immersive Christmas Experience |

Event will be on the theme of The Twelve Days of Christmas July 23, 2025 Chiswick House will open its doors this winter for a new theatrical festive event inspired by the 18th-century carol The Twelve Days of Christmas. Running from 20 November 2025 to 4 January 2026 and titled The Twelfth Night of Christmas, the historic house will be transformed into a Georgian era Christmas setting. The initiative is a collaboration between CLW Event Design and live entertainment company Underbelly. It marks the first time the interior of Chiswick House will be used as part of a public Christmas event. Underbelly has created site-specific theatrical productions including Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in the West End and Macbeth starring Ralph Fiennes and Indira Varma which was performed in warehouses across the country. The house’s rooms will feature a sequence of themed installations, sculptures, costumes and floral displays designed to evoke a sense of Georgian opulence and celebration. A separate 18th-century-style grotto will host Father Christmas for younger visitors. Charlotte Lloyd Webber of CLW Event Design said, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the CLW Event Design and Underbelly magic to this stunning architectural gem. Rich in detail, this beautiful house lends itself perfectly to our theatrical design ethos.” Charlie Wood, Co-Director of Underbelly, said, “To partner with [Charlotte Lloyd Webber] on this project at the beautiful Chiswick House is the best Christmas present ever. CLW Event Designs’ remarkable eye for detail and design, paired with Underbelly’s theatrical expertise, will create an experience that reimagines and opens up Chiswick House this Christmas.” Xanthe Arvanitakis, Director of Chiswick House and Gardens Trust, added, “This coming Christmas, we are delighted to provide a home for a truly special Christmas experience that promises to be unlike any other... We can’t wait to see ‘The Twelfth Night of Christmas’ delight and inspire both those who already love this place, and those discovering our magical House and Gardens for the first time.” Chiswick House, designed by Richard Boyle in 1729, was intended as a venue for entertaining and displaying art, rather than as a private residence.
