Southfield Road's zebra crossing has received a 'long-term' fix after demands made by local Lib Dem Councillors.

The crossing which Cllr Andrew Steed believed was dangerous to residents crossing, cyclists as well as causing problems for the E3 bus has had four temporary fixes in the past 12 months, none of which have lasted long.

Along with fellow Councillor Gary Malcolm, Andrew Steed was present when the workmen made the repairs. He told ChiswickW4.com, “Ealing Council far too often tends to use a sticking plaster approach. After speaking with the workmen it would appear these repairs are likely to be more substantial.”

He added, “Liberal Democrats favour proper investment for our roads and pavements as this saves money as future repair costs are reduced significantly.”
