Finally confirmation of a slump in prices?

The most recent release of data from the Land Registry seems to confirm the expectations of those have been gloomy about the prospects for the local property market.
The average price of a property sold in Chiswick in February was £540,475 well down on the levels seen towards the end of last year. However, the sharp fall in volume makes it difficult to interpret a monthly average as an accurate level of the direction of the market. In January the monthly average was at an all time high partly thanks to to sale of a property in Barrowgate Road for over £3 million. If that property had been registered just one day later the average for February would have been £627,440.
