The Zulu War of 1879 and the Battle of Rorke’s Drift , with special reference to Private Frederick Hitch VC of Chiswick, and Private James Marshall, the speaker’s great grandfather, by James Marshall, Hounslow’s Local Studies Librarian

The History of Brentford Dock , an illustrated talk marking its 150 th anniversary by Peter King, a Hounslow Heritage Guide


Monday 20 April

An American President in Brentford and Ealing: the John Quincy Adams Diaries, an illustrated talk by Paul Fitzmaurice on the Little Ealing History Group's researches into the diaries which paint a rich picture of life in the locality in the early 19th century

Annual General Meeting

Journal 18 will be available at the meeting and then will be posted to members unable to collect their copy in person.

The Society's talks usually take place on the third Monday of the month. We meet at the Chiswick Memorial Club, Afton House, Bourne Place, Chiswick W4, starting at 7.30pm. Remember that Afton House does not open until 7pm.
