Sharp Rise In Burglaries and Thefts From Cars Over Past Week

Police urge residents to report anything suspicious as extra officers are deployed

Information

The Police in Chiswick

Over the past week local Police have seen a sharp rise in burglary and theft from motor vehicle offences.

Inspector John Partington told ChiswickW4.com, "We are deploying officers from a number of different departments to try and catch the offender or offenders. However, policing success is greatly increased when members of the public report suspicious behaviour.

"Can we ask everyone to pay extra attention during the run up to Christmas so we can try and stop criminals spoiling the festive period?

"In particular we would like people to remove all items from cars, keep items including keys away from doors and windows, lock pedal cycles up and secure all doors and windows.

"Many offences that happen in Chiswick could be prevented by following these simple crime prevention tips."

If you see anything suspicious do not to hesitate to call 999 in an emergency, 0300 123 1212 in a non emergency or 020 8247 6415 to speak with your local Safer Neighbourhood Team.

If you believe someone is about to commit an offence treat this as an emergency and dial 999.
