The Police in Chiswick

Chiswick Police are looking for thieves with heads for heights responsible for a number of incidents where lead has been stolen from residents' roofs.

Some of the victims only discovered the theft when their roof started leaking.

Sometime between 21st and 23rd February around £1500 worth of lead was stolen from a house that was being renovated in Loretta Wharf, Strand on the Green.

Another incident, which Police believe occurred between 12th and 26th February resulted in £200 of lead taken from the roof of a house in Gainsborough Road, Chiswick.

These are just two of a number of similar incidents in the area which Police believe could be related.

Inspector Manpreet BAINS of Hounslow Police said, “These thieves cause a lot of damage to the roof and the distressed victims have to deal with subsequent expense of repairing the damage.

"I would urge anyone who has any information to contact Hounslow Police Station CID on 0208 247 6160/5940 or anonymously to CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.”
