Chiswick brewer Fuller Smith & Turner has announced that it has bought the Pilot pub on Wellesley Road. The purchase is part of a package of four establishments which also includes the Stonemason's Arms in Hammersmith and pubs in Battersea and Ladbroke Grove.

The pubs were owned by Ewan Guinness and Matt Jacomb who are reported to have received a six figure sum through the deal. Fuller's has been on the acquisition trail recently and this is the latest in a series of purchases.

They have been quoted as saying that existing staff a will transfer to them and that there are no plans to change the style of the Pilot which is a popular location both with local residents and workers at the nearby business park. Fuller's will be introducing their own beers.

Fuller's retail director Simon Emeny was reported as saying, "This is a fantastic deal for us. These well known pubs are a perfect fit with our existing estate, especially those with a particular focus on quality dining."
