Old Meadonians

Still with two thirds of their squad unavailable Old Meadonians made heavy weather of the third warm up game of the season, losing to the only team that beat them in the league last season by a convincing margin at Riverside Lands on Saturday.

Without captain Jack Costello, Meads were comparatively rudderless, relying on veteran Kevin Quinn to supply most of the impetus and when he left the field on the referee’s instructions with fifteen minutes to go they were left high and dry without a paddle and with little hope of clawing back a two goal deficit.

The consolation goal came from John Pointon with twenty minutes to go.

Team:Needham, Salanson,Wapshott, Hugh Jones, Senat, Quinn, Pointon, Cope, (Ryan), McGuinness, Bowring, (Rhone), Chapman, (Thomas).
