Burlington Lane Gas Works Extended Once Again |

Disruption due to leak repair to last into the second half of the month
October 12, 2025 Cadent Gas has confirmed that earlier hopes that its repair work on Burlington Lane might be finished by this Thursday (9 October) were ill-founded. The utility company says that it won’t be able to reopen the road until Thursday 16 October at the earliest adding that this date remains tentative. Originally scheduled to last just one week from Sunday 28 September, the works have been extended due to the discovery of more extensive underground damage to pipes than anticipated. The northbound lane closure remains in place between Paxton Road and the Hogarth Roundabout and access to Hogarth Roundabout is suspended for all vehicles during the repairs. The Hogarth Flyover remains open, but only to vehicles under three tonnes and two metres wide. Buses and HGVs must divert via Kew Road (A307) and Great West Road (A4) The company says, “We understand that extensions to work can be frustrating and road closures can be disruptive, so we appreciate your patience whilst we make sure that you can continue to receive a safe and reliable gas supply. “We’re working hard to make sure works are completed as soon as possible and we’ll be reinstating the area as we go. “If the end of works date changes, we’ll let you know via signage and social media.”
