Marks and Spencer Confirms Chiswick Store Reopening Date |

Return will be just in time for Christmas shopping November 25, 2025 The long wait for the return of Marks and Spencer to Chiswick High Road is set to end soon with the retailer confirming Tuesday 9 December as the reopening date. The wooden hoardings around the front of the new expanded premises have been removed with a fence now obscuring the views of passersby although upper deck bus passengers are getting a sneak peak at the new interior. For the time being work continues on the major refurbishment and expansion which is part of a £90 million investment across London. The relaunch is one of six new or renewed M&S Food stores opening in the capital in the run-up to Christmas with the Fulham Broadway store officially opened last Friday (21 November). M&S has not shared any details of any ceremony planned at Chiswick but in Fulham Percy Pig was on hand to help the Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham cut the ribbon. It is understood that the Fulham store is a very similar format to the Chiswick one and that many of the team working on fitting out the SW6 store are now in Chiswick. The Fulham Broadway branch stocks 6,600 different lines, with a mix of staffed and self-service tills, and in-store collection. Robotic cleaners are being used to sweep the floors. The store will have been closed for just shy of six months and it is understood that the hoped for Autumn reopening was thwarted by unexpected difficulties with the conversion including the presence of asbestos in the building.
Dan Talmadge, Chiswick Store Manager: “Our team has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes, so we’re very excited to confirm that we’ll be re-opening our Chiswick store on 9th December. I’d like to say a huge thank you to our customers for their patience while the renewal work has been taking place. The transformed store will offer the very best of M&S Food, just in time for Christmas, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back through the doors.”
