A 15 year od schoolboy was attacked and robbed whilst he was playing after school with friends.

The incident happened around 14.45 last Wednesday 14th September at the recreation ground on Thames Road.  The park is currently the focus of a residents refurbishment project and is a popular playarea for local children.

The youth was approached by the first suspect who said that he wanted his bike.  When the victim refused, the suspect pushed him to the ground and held him down by putting knee on his head.  The suspect then pulled a silver chain worth £50 from the victim's neck and made off with an accomplice on the victim's black BMX bike worth £200.

The first suspect is described as a 17 years old black male, 5'10" tall wearing dark blue jeans and t-shirt.

The victim was unable to give a description of the second suspect.

Police are asking for any witnesses to call PC David Bendall on 020 8247 5940.
