A mother was threatened with a knife and what is believed to be a pistol as she walked down an alleyway with her two small children.

The incident happened on Friday 5th March at midday when the 27 year victim made her way along the passage between Alexandra Gardens and Dukes Meadows.

She was approached by two men, one white male and the other black.

The first suspect showed her a knife and the second showed her what is believed to be a pistol before demanding the she hand over her money and mobile phone.

The woman ran away with her children leaving the suspects empty handed.

Suspect 1 is described as a white male, about 23 years old, 5'06" to 5'07" tall, short dark hair, slim build wearing grey tracksuit bottoms with a black jacket with a reflective material stripe.

Suspect 2 is described as a black male, 19 - 20 years of age, 5'08" tall, medium build, dark braided hair wearing a printed dark 'dirty' green coloured jacket and blue bottoms.
