Residents in Duke Road face two weeks of disruption as Hounslow Highways carry out road resurfacing works.

Hounslow Highways say they will carry out the work in sections. A deep excavation and reconstruction of the road foundation and surface is planned. Access to most of Duke road is unavailable at present and traffic is being diverted.

The works started on Monday and there is some congestion at school drop off and pick up times as the two local primary schools have not yet broken up for summer holidays.

A letter from Hounslow Highways circulated to local residents said that the work will take seventeen days. Side streets are still open for parking.

Hounslow Highways said the old surface will be excavated and a newly constructed surface laid. This has been determined as the most appropriate course of treatment for Duke Road. This also explains why the works are expected to take 17 days to complete.

The road will be closed in sections, however the signage and works letters indicate that the road should be kept free of parked vehicles as in some instances during the works, it may be required to close larger stretches of the road. As the works progress, completed parts of the road will reopen said Hounslow Highways.
