Chiswick Flower Market Launches Community Grant Programme
Green projects to be supported by surplus from monthly event

Chiswick Flower Market has launched a new Community Grants Programme aimed at supporting local initiatives that promote sustainability, biodiversity, and community wellbeing. The scheme offers grants of up to £3,000 for projects that benefit Chiswick and the wider W4 area.
The programme is open to a broad range of applicants, including charities, schools, community groups, non-profit organisations, and small independent businesses. Eligible proposals may include enhancements to public spaces or community gardens, sustainable food-growing schemes, educational activities focused on climate action or horticulture, and wellbeing initiatives with an environmental focus. Local events that support the High Road and independent traders are also encouraged.
Applications must be submitted by 30 November 2025 via a short online form outlining the project’s aims, community impact, and budget. Submissions will be reviewed by the Chiswick Flower Market Grants Panel, with priority given to projects that demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability and local engagement.
Kathleen Mitra, Director of Chiswick Flower Market, said the initiative builds on the market’s ongoing commitment to reinvesting in the community. “We are delighted with the way the Flower Market has become a much-loved part of the Chiswick community,” she said. “This new grant programme is a way for us to support the brilliant ideas from local groups to make Chiswick greener, more environmentally responsible and to enhance the community spirit.”
Since its inception in 2020, Chiswick Flower Market has contributed over £30,000 to local causes. Past investments have included the restoration of public spaces, the installation of floral displays, and support for local charities and environmental projects.
The market itself is held on the first Sunday of each month at Old Market Place in the car park on Chiswick High Road. Run entirely by volunteers as a Community Interest Company (CIC), it has become a popular destination for residents and visitors alike, promoting independent businesses.
